Indoor Air Quality Inspection - Canton, OH

1 min read

Employees at a retail store had been complaining of headaches and respiratory issues. WEFM showed up, instruments in hand. We took several measurements: temperature/humidity, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and Oxygen (O2). All of these gasses can be associated with the headaches and respiratory issues the workers had mentioned. We located high levels of hydrogen sulfide in an employee restroom which we attributed to a rarely used floor drain. We recommended pouring water down all of the floor drains to ensure that sewer gas could not come through the drain. It sounds simple but it takes experience to identify it. We also located a moldy wall in the stock room that nobody had mentioned and, anticipating its remediation, collected asbestos samples. That's where we shine; listen to the problem, take a scientific approach to the issues and lean on our 15 years of experience to identify the ENTIRE solution.
