Lead Water Testing - Columbus, OH
When people think of lead contaminated water, they usually think of the widely publicized issues in Flint, MI. However, lead lined pipes were commonly used throughout the United States. We have recently experienced an uptick in lead water testing, particularly in child day care facilities. Children are highly susceptible to lead which presents itself as nervous system issues and learning disabilities. When it comes to water testing, regulations require the water to set dormant for 6 hours. That means that these samples need to be collected well after business hours. Bare soil is also collected if present. This job was no different. We arrived on site at 3 am. This day care was relatively small so we ended up collecting 11 water samples from each hand sink, water fountain and prep sink. Since the building was built after 1978, no paint testing was required but we're equipped to do that as well. If you have any questions about lead in water or lead based paint (LBP) feel free to give us a call!
